Breakdown

This video was created to open the JMU men’s tennis season. With a quick turnaround during an especially busy week of events, I set out to create a piece that felt energetic, engaging, and capable of building excitement for both the team and its fans.

I selected a fast-paced track to drive the edit, while intentionally leaving space for sound design to bring in natural audio elements like ball hits, court movement, and player energy. This helped ground the video and make it feel more immersive rather than purely music driven. My focus in the edit was to maintain a quick, rhythmic pace that matched the intensity of the sport while still allowing key moments to land.

Despite the tight timeline, I completed the full edit in approximately three and a half hours, balancing speed with attention to detail. This project challenged me to work efficiently without sacrificing creativity, and I’m incredibly proud of how the final product came together under pressure.
