Breakdown

This uniform reveal was an especially exciting project, as it introduced an entirely new look for the lacrosse team. With the uniforms featuring a black design, I leaned into a darker visual theme to shape the overall tone of the video. My initial concepts centered around filming in JMU’s indoor field facility, but when the space became unavailable and the project timeline was shortened to under a week, I quickly pivoted.

I transitioned the shoot to our studio space, using a black backdrop and developing three distinct lighting setups to achieve the dramatic, low-light aesthetic I was going for. Prior to filming, I created a detailed shot list and tested each lighting configuration to ensure efficiency during production.

In post, I emphasized fast paced editing techniques, using flashing light transitions to create energy and immediately capture viewer attention. I incorporated glow effects, wipes, and layered sound design to enhance the overall impact. This project pushed my ability to adapt creatively under time constraints, and I’m incredibly proud of the final result.
